TDANA Strengthens ADWA Health Facility: Over 70 million Birr Worth of Medical Supplies donated to Adwa Hospital

TDANA Strengthens Adwa Hospital: In collaboration with members of the Tigrayan community in Michigan, and the Adwa Hospital International Rescue, TDANA and TDA donated over 70-million-birr worth of medical supplies.
The donated medical equipment and medicines valued at over seventy million birrs were generously provided by World Medical Relief, to Adwa Hospital.
The handover ceremony was attended by TDA leadership, Adwa city officials, elders, religious leaders, and members of the Adwa Hospital Rescue Association.
Speaking on behalf of TDA, Diaspora Desk Coordinator Mr. Senay Michelay expressed gratitude to the TDA North America Chapter, the Tigrayan community in Michigan, Adwa Hospital International Rescue, and World Medical Relief for their contributions. He stressed the importance of properly utilizing the donated items and urged Adwa Hospital to deploy the supplies promptly to address the community's needs.
Kinfe Gebregziabher, the Executive Director of Adwa Hospital, accepted the donation and extended heartfelt thanks, noting that the aid would significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to deliver quality healthcare services amidst a severe shortage of medical supplies.
Dr. Tesfamichael, a surgeon at Adwa Hospital, outlined the challenges the hospital faced during the war, including the inability to provide essential services. He acknowledged the efforts of TDA members worldwide and the Adwa Hospital International Rescue for their vital support in the hospital's recovery.
Genet Haile Selassie, a hospital representative, expressed her gratitude for the donation, emphasizing that it will enable the facility to restore critical services and better serve the community.
This donation is part of TDA’s broader health program to strengthen and restore the healthcare system, which has been severely impacted by the war in Tigray.
