Tigray Development Association in North America (TDA-NA) Donation of $20,000.00 for Urgent Humanitarian Relief at Hitsatse IDP Camp

Dec 23, 2025 (Washington, DC) - In direct response to the urgent call for assistance made by the Tigray government regarding the deteriorating humanitarian situation, the Tigray Development Association in North America (TDA-NA) is pleased to announce a donation of $20,000.00 dedicated to supporting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the Hitsatse camp.

We have been deeply saddened by recent reports indicating that over 50 individuals have died at the Hitsatse camp since July 2025 due to extreme shortages of food and life-saving medication. As an organization committed to the rehabilitation and development of our homeland, we cannot remain silent while our people face such imminent danger.

Allocation of Funds

This contribution is intended to provide immediate relief in the following priority areas:

Emergency Food Supplies: To supplement the current insufficient rations and combat rising malnutrition.

Medical Assistance: To procure essential medicines to treat preventable diseases and chronic conditions within the camp.

Water and Sanitation: To improve hygiene conditions and prevent further health complications.

The Tigray Development Association in North America stands in unwavering solidarity with the people of Tigray. We remain dedicated to our mission of supporting the people of Tigray during this critical recovery period.
